Informative and a nice read, my students will find this really helpful
This text provides a refreshing approach to research. A useful guide for researchers interested in digital methods.
Due to the massive amount of data that everyday is being created, I found this book a good guide for my students in research methods course.
This books brings clarity to what digital research methods are in relation to traditional ones. As we move towards using more digital data in our research this book provides some clarity as to how we might conduct reliable studies with new types of data.
This book was not adopted as the format of the course changed. It will of course be a valuable asset for part of the new study skills module.
A well-written text that gives a good overview from a theoretical and practical standpoint.
Current and highly recommended for all e-researchers.
This textbook is going to be adopted only as supplemental reading. The ideas discussed there are general and the text is lacking a more practical methodological discussion. The idea of eResearch is valid and is up-to-date. The motivation for doing digital research is presented well in this book. Just students in our university are looking for more practical guidance and examples from the methodological point of view.
I am recommending this book for students doing research online as it provides some interesting insights about digital methods. I was however hopeful it would provide more cutting edge approaches such as digital participatory methods. That is why it's not part of the essential reading list
An excellent text for exploring digital research methods. It is very useful for both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
