Deservedly in its third and updated edition, plus suitably priced, this book did not let me down. Although obviously aimed at students, I felt refreshed reading part one's exploration of the counselling profession...If you have friends who are curious to train, this is the book to recommend before they start, and it will be useful throughout training and beyond qualification. For the qualified this is a contemporary, stimulating and useful reminder of the various developments and changes the counselling profession has seen in the past few years.

The book is an excellent introduction for those students on our course that are planning to go into therapeutic services.
