'At last a book has been produced that explains the nature of occupational and organisational psychology. By combining sound academic literature reviews with contributions from experienced practitioners, and thoughtful advice on the ethics and skills of research, this is a "must read" for those either considering entering the profession, or currently studying the discipline' -
Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe
Professor of Leadership, University of Bradford School of Management

'This really useful book will be a key resource for aspiring occupational psychologists. The editors have put together a coherent package that is based on the requirements of the British Psychological Society and provides a clear explanation of the research and practitioner key skills that occupational psychologists need. The editors have assembled a strong team of contributors to provide very readable insights into the work that occupational psychologists actually do' -
Professor Ivan Robertson
Robertson Cooper Ltd & Leeds University Business School

A must for individuals who are interested in occupational psychology, whether a student or an employer. It gives a good focus on the aspects of occupational psychology.

I especially like the idea "behind" - to bring together theory and practice - I will partly use it to let the students discuss differences with europe/german approaches

This textbook provides a different perspective on managing people and brings together a number of eclectic issues. It has been good at provoking discussion on diversity.

this is a solid and well written book which has a good balance between theoretical insights and practical concerns, I recommend this as a text book to our students for two modules. The chapters on assessment and selection and leadership, as well as the professional practice aspects, are in particular very good.
