Organizing and Organizations integrates a strong critical approach throughout.
`An excellent introductory text .... it provides a concise and well-written coverage of the main concepts in organizational behaviour. The combination of case studies and discussion of theoretical issues is well structured and provides the reader with a good framework for further reading' - Leadership and Organization Development
The book takes a different view of Organizational Psychology than other texts reviewed. I find it much more attractive and insightful. It provides a more complex and thorough view of organisational phenomena that I believe is of great interest for the training of psychologists in this field.
A fresh perspective about organizations which provide students a theoretical and practical background to understand real working life and organization's dilemmas. The teacher and student ressources are very useful and help to achieve pedagogical targets.
Well written and very readable textbook which provide the possibility to understand the basics of management - but from very reflexive and critical point of view.
Great overview of organizational theory with a unique form and style. Excellent alternative to traditional textbooks
For the Fda there is a unit on managing people, This is a really useful book for looking at different organisations and style of leadership and management
We end up adopting the books by Marry Jo Hatch and Ann Cunliffe.
Stephen Fineman's book on various processes of organizing is a great source of information for more advanced students of (international) organization. Many salient questions regarding organization are touched upon and given conceptual background. Not only students but also more seasoned theorists will consider the book as a good place to find inspiration about how to understand and research the world of (international) organization in an original fashion!
I would suggest to all students that they read this text. Its clear and well written
An excellent book - suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is very well written and organized.
