This fascinating book takes the reader through the most basic steps of reading, to enable them to have a better understanding of how to support learners effectively with this. It is written in an accessible style, though some of the ideas may be complex for non-experts.
It was useful having a book that tackles the subject of supporting readers in secondary school. It gave my students the opportunity to read around the subject and make comparisons between supporting early years and teenagers.
This will be recommended to the students who work at KS3 as it is an increasingly relevant area for their work
