a useful tool for the next module I am currently planning for, SEN and inclusion. I will be recommending this to my students as additional reading.
This book is simply laid out, and offers six chapters of interrelated practitioner informed advice and guidance on the rudiments of partnership working. This book will be recommended for a Foundation Degree Module on Partnerships in Education. There are wonderful insights, real-world practice scenarios woven through to strengthen and support the arguments, and assist the reader in making such linkages.
Chapter 3: 'Partnership working between groups of schools' was useful when discussing the ways in which schools are changing to meet the needs of communities. Students particularly engaged with sections about the role of special schools. Photocopy sheets were useful too.
This is a very visual book with resources that can be photocopied. Questions for reflection and key points boxes allow students to take a critical exploration of their own practice.
incorporates partnership working which supports the sessions being delivered. Learners can relate to the content of this book, already working in childcare settings.
Useful for practitioners working with children, families and other professionals involving additional learning needs.
This book provides a sound understanding of the complexities of working in interdisciplinary teams with children and young people. It is structured in such a way to guide the reader through its content, providing case studies and key points to maximise the opportunites for learning. Whilst it does not provide a deeply theoretical context for understanding inclusion and special needs, it does contribute a practical toolkit of resources for anyone working with children.
There is some applicable, generic information regarding additional support needs but the emphasis is on schools in England. With references to English systems and legislation which do not apply in Scotland. Helpful for informing teachers, with some useful reflective activities.

This book provides a good understanding as to why it is important to work in partenship with professionals and families in the SEN areana.
I ordered this thinking it would fulfil the person-centred planning component of my disability studies class. However, it was too focused on school settings. Nonetheless, the book is a very useful resource, though not for what I needed. In the end, I opted for an Inclusion Press publication on PCP.
A useful text to help students to understand the agencies who work with children with SEN and disabilities.
As a Course Leader for the National Award SENCo, I am constantly on the look out for materials which are at once based provide a sound theorethical foundation while also enabling learners to access practical strategies. Rona Tutt's publication provides precisely this balance in Partnership Working to Support Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The book relies on straightforward accessible language to deliver a message of inclusion through partnership. This message is supported with the use of school based case studies, which are engaging and instructive.
This is a general text that may also be suitable for students studying for foundation degrees
A very informative text.
Given the drive on SEND infomation and data required by OFSTED I think that this book is an essential requirement to ITE book lists. It is clear and consise, easy to read and really interesting. It gives information on a range of SEND support and different levels of partnership - a one-stop-shop for anyone wanting to find out about SEND. I will reccomend this book to students and colleagues in ITE and Professional studies
This book provides useful background information for the course, but does not really privide in depth academic commentary which is required at this level.
a good resource for planning the lectures. the learners used this book for quotes and some have gone to purchase these from their local book shop.
for my course this will prove a useful support material for psychologists who are working with schools to enable better SEND and multi facetted practices
