My students love this book. It is well written, communicates points clearly, and is informative.
This is by far the most authoritative text on the subject.
This is a comprehensive overview of the topics using American research. I supplement with journal articles from a Canadian perspective.
Thorough text full of data supporting all that is said but in a way that will keep interest of those who know nothing of the issues they may soon face. Distinction between world of a girl in school and a so called girl at work was a major chapter to influence my decision. My students need to be prepared for this reality and difference many have never faced.
This replaced my prior Powell text. I appreciate that the research is more current. Students love this book, easy to read and usable data that applies to life experiences.
Gary does interesting research that results in relevant and thought provoking articles and books. Many female students want to do a dissertation on women in management and this book provides relevant reading.
Clear and concise - focuses on key topics relating to gender in management. A good book to dip in and out of.
Great resource for the discussion of and learning about gender differences, but I'd need to be teaching a course solely on this issue to make apprpriate use of this book as it is too specific for my "survey course" needs.
The topics incorporated into the text are relevant, timely, and well presented. Students need to have this up-to-date knowledge so they can function effectively in the businessworld.
Thorough, yet short enough for a four week course.
This widens and deepens current thoughts of management. An eye-opener!
