This bestselling textbook helps students understand how important leadership skills are, at whatever level they are working at, as well as how to develop into a leader themselves.  Key features:

·        A website with videos of the authors explaining difficult concepts, exercises to help students apply theory to practice and weblinks to further resources

Barr and Dowding build upon their successful previous editions to provide strategies for developing person-centred leadership in health. Ideal reading for novices through to experts.

Caia Francis, Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of the West of England, Bristol

A very practical book, well signposted and wide ranging in content. Useful application of theory to real world practice. Easy to read.

I would like to have seen much more space given to the NHS Health Care Leadership Model. Although the information is relevant to other disciplines, this is very clearly nursing focused text. I would like to have seen a much more critical approach to concepts such as 'learning styles' (for which there is a weak evidence base).

Contents very well explored and very interesting activities that allow to apply and further explore the theory.
