Law and ethics
A really clear and easy to use text. I really like the use of case studies to highlight points.
This book would be one to keep! A great book demonstrating legal and professional issues in current midwifery practice. All student midwives should own one!
Essential text for midwives
This book is well written and very informative. Good case studies, very helpful for student midwives. Chapters on Record keeping and Supporting Vulnerable Adults very useful.
Easy to read with essential information included
This book is well written and easy to read. Recommended.
An excellent resource for midwifery students understanding the fundamentals of law within the midwifery profession.
Excellent reading for this course
Excellent book will be used across the three years of the BSc Midwifery course
A well written and comprehensive text which will raise awareness of the issues in todays society and how this affects the care and professional integrity of the midwife. The text is highly appropriate and is well written especially the issues of consent in the baby and child. I find the Learning Matters texts to be very student centric and and to be well received by the students. They encourage further reading but give the relevant information in an easy to digest and retain process. I like the use of scenario and case study to encourage learning by the students an this will also enable self directed study to become second nature in the mature learner. I do feel this is a text that will also be of significant value to the practicing midwife too, and enables them to maintain their knowledge easily around a sometimes avoided subject.
