This interdisciplinary core textbook looks at learning and development from birth to 19 years providing, an accessible introduction to the common areas of study across the many roles supporting learning and development in the young people's workforce. Generally seems to 'hit the spot' with education support staff - especially for experienced practitioners now reflecting on their work roles through undergraduate study. This book not only sets out to use relevant theory as a means of better understanding practice - as with how children learn, for example, but also demystifies issues around policy, quality assurance and professionalism in which all education practitioners are enmeshed... Overall, this is an accessible and relevant springboard into informed professional refection.
