an excellent text that makes very good use of illustrations, tables and summaries of learning, the lattter guide the student to reflect upon their own understanding and knowledge of the points raised. This is a very good text. Of particular interest is the focus on Participatory approaches in research. If you are stuck for ideas on how and why to carryout research with children then you should invest in this text.

An essential guide for anyone considering doing research with children and young people. It is easy to overlook some important methodological and ethical issues when considering research with children and young people and this book provides very useful guide in how to overcome these pitfalls.
