Statement of intent regarding diversity, equity, inclusion and decolonising the curriculum

At SAGE, we want our books to empower people from all backgrounds to learn from and contribute to scholarship. We are working to ensure our publishing is inclusive and we have committed to embedding a sophisticated understanding of diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility in our books. Our goal is for our texts to be free from bias and prejudice and to reflect the diversity of students reading them.

Why Partner with SAGE?

Choosing a new publishing partner is a significant decision for any society or organization. At Sage, we believe our publishing services we make a strong case for choosing us on your journal’s partner.

Health Services

Sage is dedicated to developing textbooks that support students’ learning as well as lecturers’ teaching and are proud to publish key textbooks by leading figures in the field covering core topics such as health promotion, public health and research methods.

We also publish over 100 highly-read and cited journals (to support academics, students and researchers) in the health and nursing discipline, with titles such as Health Promotion Practice, Perspectives in Public Health, Global Health Promotion and Health Education Behaviour.

The importance of science

It is important that the UK has enough well-qualified scientists to meet the demand, but there is much evidence to suggest that there is a shortfall in the numbers of young people coming through into science-related occupations. This explains why science continues to hold core subject status with the National Curriculum. The ASPIRE Project reported concern that women, and working-class and some minority ethnic groups are under-represented in the study of science, especially in the physical sciences and engineering (Archer et al., 2013).
