CBT for Common Trauma Responses
- Michael J Scott - Private Practice, Liverpool
After discussing how to tailor CBT practice to work most effectively with trauma responses in real-world settings, Michael J Scott goes on to explore the step-by-step treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, other commonly occurring disorders and, finally, secondary traumatisation. Those training to work with young people, or already doing so, will find the focus in Part Three on CBT with traumatized children invaluable.
This book provides a thought provoking presentation of some of the co morbid issues present within CBT
An excellent resource offering information and assessment tools to practitioners. Whilst this is a fairly broad text, excellent use is made of case studies to illuminate treatment.
This a very good basic introductory text to working with trauma.
Excellent resource and very well written book
This book provides a comprehensive overview of CBT for common trauma responses. It is both accessible and readable, giving clinically useful advice. It is particularly helpful that it considered the application of CBT to more unusual presentations of trauma.
Very comprehensive, clear and understandable. Use of case studies excelllent.
A useful broad text. I would have liked more about formulation and reliving techniques in CBT to have been represented.
