Yvonne James University of Ottawa, Canada

Yvonne James, BA (Hons), MA, received her Master of Arts in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Ottawa. Her major research article explored social constructions of ‘bad’ student mothers in the Western academy and sought to problematize the contradictions of this role. She is currently working as a Research Associate and Project Assistant at the Canadian Health Human Resources Research Unit. Her research interests and current areas of focus include motherhood discourse, birth discourse, disability studies, qualitative methodologies, feminist theory, pay equity and midwifery, caesarean section reduction strategies, health human resources and knowledge translation.
