John Parry Open University, UK

John Parry is a lecturer in education (Early Years and Inclusion) at the Open University in the United Kingdom. He has many years’ experience as a practitioner working in the early childhood sector, primarily as a teacher and coordinator of educational support services for preschool children. From 2003 until 2009, he was chairperson of the National Portage Association in the United Kingdom. His research interests are the development of inclusion in schools and early childhood provision, early intervention, and peer relationships in inclusive settings. His latest book is Special Needs in the Early Years, which he co-authored with Sue Roffey, associate professor at the University of Western Sydney. Published by Routledge in 2014, the book explored the most effective ways of supporting children and implementing that support in the context of everyday family life.
