James M. Fortney, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Western Washington University, Department of Communication, USA. He is also a member of the Society for Disability Studies. His research interests focus on organizational communication and critical cultural studies, especially as they intersect with social identity categories (e.g. disability, sexuality, and race). His work appears in the instructor manual for Qualitative Research Methods: Collecting Evidence, Crafting Analysis, Communicating Impact (Tracy, Wiley-Blackwell, 2013), and the edited book, Faces of Culture in Organizational Communication (Marchiori, DiFusão, 2013).
