Gwen N. Lesetedi is a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Botswana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Public Administration from the University of Zambia, Lusaka, a Master’s Degree in Demography from Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and she teaches introduction to sociology, research methods, and urban sociology. Her research interest covers issues on urban social interaction but also extends to family, gender issues, human rights, and health issues focusing on HIV/AIDS. She has been involved in studies related to the urban environment and has contributed to books on the urbanization process. Her areas of interest include health, gender, population, and development.
