He is the author of Rebuilding the News: Metropolitan Journalism in the Digital Age (Temple University Press) and the forthcoming Journalism: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford University Press) (with Len Downie and Michael Schudson) and Remaking the News (with Pablo Boczkowski) (MIT Press). He is currently at work on a historical and ethnographic manuscript tentatively titled Journalistic Cultures of Truth: Data in the Digital Age (Oxford) which examines the relationship between material evidence, computational processes, and notions of “context” from 1910 until the present
