This textbook is very thorough and easy to read. Discussion questions at the end of each chapter are also excellent.

This provides the best information for this course presently. It is easy to follow for the students and the sections are adequately divided for easy class preparation.

I used the previous edition and I like the fact that the text includes all forms of family violence. It is very comprehensive.
I teach an interdisciplinary course on family violence across the lifespan.This textbook meets my heeds and those of my students. The book is well written and comprehensive. It has many wonderful features icluding section summaries, multiple case histories and thought provoking discussion questions. Important points are highlighted in well designed tables and text boxes. Research findings and other forms of evidence are integrated throughout.
I liked the topics covered, the depth, and the inclusion of disabled & ethnic groups. I also thought the price was good!
Covers family violence from birth through old age. That is what was needed for this course.
Excellent overview of family violence.
This book has the information that I am looking for and is organized well.
I have used the 2nd edition in the past, practically each semester I have taught the CrJ 108 (formerly 151): Domestic Crime and Violence. The book has extensive information on all forms of family violence. The text contains a comprehensive overview of the numerous topics within the scope of 'family violence.' The depth and breadth are impressive. Conversely, I have been disappointed that no FV texts contain anything about animal abuse. However, I do supplement that with my own readings, etc.
