Na Lor is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University’s Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis where she teaches Mixed Methods, Qualitative Methods, and Sociology of Higher Education. Her research examines ethnic studies policy and implementation, culture based educational praxis and pedagogies, and critical consciousness development among white students and students of color. Dr. Lor also draws upon social design based experiments and formative interventions that center student identity in teaching toward the goal of achieving both vertical and horizontal forms of learning. As a former recipient of the Institute for Education Sciences Predoctoral Fellowship, she leverages multi and mixed methods to assess learning processes and evaluate student outcomes within natural and experimental learning ecologies. She received her PhD. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
