SAGE to publish Nordic Journal of Nursing Research from March 2015

February 18, 2015

Los Angeles, CA – SAGE and Vårdförbundet in partnership with The Swedish Society of Nursing today announced a new partnership to publish the Nordic Journal of Nursing Research from March 2015.

The journal Nordic Journal of Nursing Research is a research journal that communicates knowledge about nursing, nursing research and development as a means of raising the standard and quality of nursing. The journal targets nurses engaged in research, management, education, nurses in clinical practice and persons interested in development and research within nursing. All articles are reviewed by a referee panel. Research published in the journal integrates a global perspective retaining the Nordic context with its focus on person-centred care.

Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE, when asked about the new partnership stated:

“Over the past decade SAGE has grown in strength with our medical publishing, and we are now marked out as the 4th leading publisher for medical journals. Our partnership with Vårdförbundet to publish their high quality journal on Nordic nursing research is an indication of our growing strength across these disciplines. We are delighted to be partnering with them, working closely to strengthen the journals global reach and bring its key research to a wider international audience. We look forward to working with the esteemed editorial board, and continuing to build out its readership and pivotal impact on the academic field.”

Hannele Kangas, Vårdförbundet, remarked of the partnership:

“When looking to find a new home for our journal we wanted to find a publisher whom could both offer it international development and expansion, but one whom also understood the detail and quality of the field in which the journal is situated. In SAGE we found a publisher who, with a growing nursing portfolio, understands the nature of the research and can offer the journal the depth and experience of their international marketing and publishing. We look forward to seeing the journal go from strength to strength under SAGE’s leadership and wish the editorial teams all the best.”

Editor ProfessorKim Lützén further commented:

“We are delighted to now be publishing with SAGE, a publisher whom we feel is closely aligned with both our editorial goals and values but one who also can see a clear path for our future development and growth. We look forward to working with the teams at SAGE to further develop the high quality research of our journal and are very much looking forward to a prosperous relationship.”

The first SAGE issue will publish in March 2015. The corporate website can be found here.
