This excellent book provides one of the most comprehensive and hands-on treatises of the entire research process. It views research as craftwork that requires continuous development and perfection of skills. Therefore, this book speaks to a broad audience of both junior and more seasoned researchers in management and business studies. If you have time to read only one book on how to undertake academic research, this is the one!
This excellent book covers the theory and practice of research in an accessible and engaging way, making it the perfect choice for both novice and experienced researchers in the field of business and management
This is a must for all Business and Management students. This easy to follow book will provide a robust handrail for any research project.
It is a very practical book.
A useful update on the previous edition.
This book constitutes a mandatory consultation for students and scholars in the field of business research. The authors clearly describe all the various stages which are required by the research process. Management and Business Research book offers a number of examples and readings that give additional support during the investigation process.
It is a good additional material given its focus on business/management research.
Used this book as a core reading material for my research methods unit and students find it very useful to help them understand and gain knowledge of research methods practices, especially research philosophies.
A thorough all round introduction to Research Methods
This is an excellent book. The presentation is clear with excellent use of visual aids which provide clarity for what is often felt to be a complex and difficult concepts.
Excellent text book which covers the key areas of research design. Easy to read and understand.
This book provides a comprehensive overview of research methods with excellent examples and explanations. The examples in particular are the reason I feel it can be recommended for students. Higher semester undergraduates and post-grads will benefit in particualr from the clear application of theory.
This book has a very good overview of quantitative research methods which my colleague is teaching on MSc Research Methods that I lead. I found this book to be more suited for PhD level research methods, than for MSc purely because our classes are mostly international and about half have done dissertation before and hence need a more basic introduction into research methods. Currently this book is being used and I have been recommending it since the start of the term for additional reading and self-learning.
This was quite straightforward. I was using the earlier edition of this book and have now updated with the latest edition.
In general I found the updates to be appropriate (e.g. technology updates, I now get a lot of students who want to do work using social media to analyse organisations).
I found this book to be an excellent text which covers all the key points for students beginning a dissertation.
This book presents the essential tools to developing a research in the areas of business and management.
This book provides a useful overview of the theory and practice of research, the chapters are engaging and it is an ideal choice for undergraduates studying research methods in business and management as well as more experienced researchers.
This book covers research process entirely. Ethics and politics issues are also included. I believe this book will be helpful for my students.
It is quite an useful and comprehensive book on management research
+ boxed examples and exercises; particularly liked the section on politics and power - such topic rarely included in business research handbooks; a bit weak in content regarding quantitative methods
