Compliant with the SEND Code of Practice, this book explores all the key contemporary issues relevant to supporting children with special needs in an early years context with a balanced use of theory and practice. The individual child is at the very heart of the book, and the need for individuality is strongly expressed…This core textbook is an essential read for early years students at all levels, and early years practitioners who wish to gain a greater understanding of the core issues affecting special needs provision.
Useful information for module studies. Was good for linking to practice too.
This is a child centred focused book. It has a good balance of theory and practice which will support students with their knowledge and understanding of SEND in the early years.
A detailed yet accessible text covering guidance for practitioners working with children with special needs in early years settings, with a clear focus on provision of services and the importance of working with families. Recommended for students who wish to work in an educational setting to help develop an understanding of the multi-agency provision available.
A very usefull and informative book for students to use to supplement their knowledge of SEND in the Early Years
I have found this a really useful text and a good addition to our reading list for a module on inclusion in the 3 - 7 age range of the Primary School. Will continue to use and recommend as a good and accessible source.
