Excellent insight and alternative thinking provided for students
This can be used across a wide range of sociological modules and I have recommended it for students wider reading

Parts of this book were beneficial but for a course on globalization, I needed a more introductory level textbook. I will be using chapters from this book though.

Whilst an excellent book, considered to take students in a direction that was too specialist for the Module that was taught.

It helps students to think sociologically, and above all criticaly about society.

We have used the earlier editions of this book extensively and this latest edition is excellent - it brings the topic up to date and includes some very useful examples.

I love the book--it's great! The reason I'm not adopting it is simply that I'm to focus the Special Topics course on a different theme. If I get the chance to go to this theme, I will definitely use this title.
