...Because of the author’s compelling critical perspective and astute observation of social injustice, it is definitely a recommended read.
Sorrell's book provides students with the critical tools to develop intercultural competence. It introduces them to the fundamental principles and issues of intercultural communication within the broader context of globalization, with focus on understanding and appreciating cultural differences.
The book gives some good ideas in understanding the cultural aspects of communication and expressing ideas via social networks.
Text is current and excellent for use to motivate discussion.
I like that she takes a fresh perspective that is more nuanced and accounts for real-world events.
The book "Intercultural communication" could be used for various courses. Initially it was ordered for the course "Social media analyses and decision making" but it turned out to be very helpful for the PhD course "English language training for working in international environment".
