May Wejebe Shanahan has a bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology from the Department of Anthropological Sciences at the Autonomous University of Yucatan. Additionally, she has taken courses on themes relevant to anthropology, public policy, social determinants of health, health promotion, public health, and applied epidemiology. Currently, she is responsible for two programs in health promotion implemented by the public sector focused on vulnerable population and works as a social scientist in the project Prospective Cohort Study of Dengue Fever in Elementary School Children, Yucatán, Mexico at the Autonomous University of Yucatan, funded by Sanofi Pasteur Laboratory.
