Frederick F. Wherry Yale University, USA

Frederick F. Wherry is a professor of sociology at Yale University and the codirector of its Center for Cultural Sociology. He formerly taught at the University of Michigan and Columbia University. He earned his PhD in sociology at Princeton University and his master's degree in public affairs at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs. Dr. Wherry is an economic and cultural sociologist who is currently investigating the meanings of money and the financial inclusion of immigrants and ethnic minorities in the United States. He is the author of The Culture of Markets; The Philadelphia Barrio: The Arts, Branding, and Neighborhood Transformation; and Global Markets an Local Crafts: Thailand and Costa Rica Compared. He was recently elected to the membership of the Sociological Research Association in recognition of his distinguished research.
